Assessment & Evaluation
Treatment planning begins with a personal assessment of how the individual is coping with their current situation, recent related experiences, strengths, talents, goals and aspirations followed by an evaluation of these as part of the treatment planning process.
Anxiety Reduction
Individual and group therapy to gain insight and develop coping skills for reducing anxiety and decreasing stress.
Anger Management
Individual and group therapy to develop insight, coping skills and techniques to reduce anger, increase awareness of internal conflicts and develop alternative ways of thinking and behaving.
Attention to Individual Needs
Each client has one staff person who is identified to ensure he/she receives services that are unique to the individual’s needs and who is responsible for responding to concerns, questions and resolving any issues.
Community Involvement
Treatment planning is designed to assist the individual continue participating in the wider community (school, work, social groups, friendships, family activities) or transition from La Selva services back to community involvement if this has been disrupted.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Evidence based therapy, that helps a person explore their thought process and belief system, brings into play new personal insights aimed at creating a shift in personal values, beliefs and behaviors.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Evidenced based therapy that explores the internal structure of personality with the goal of strengthening personality.
Co-Occurring Disorder Care
Groups designed to assist individuals recognize the dynamics of dealing with both a thought-based or personality disorder, as well as substance abuse, and to develop strategies to address both.
Trauma Care
Individual and group therapy focused on the treatment of developmental, acute and complex trauma. Treatment emphasizes safety and stabilization, developing coping strategies, managing triggers, and securing trauma trained outpatient providers for long term treatment.
Group and Family Therapy
Groups where clients or families come together to work on or share experiences about similar issues and to further develop their relationships.
Life Skills Education
Education and practice to learn more effective basic skills to support successful life.
Medication Monitoring
Individual work with each client to ensure they are taking their medications as prescribed and helping them identify any issues and, as needed, consult with their physician.
Men‘s and Women’s Groups
Groups designed to discuss some of the issues and challenges unique to men or women in our society.
Individual Psychological Insight Work
Designed to gain a better understanding of one’s own internal thought process and to gain new insights into personal beliefs and behaviors.
Residential Treatment
La Selva’s residential program provides a comprehensive and individualized treatment in a compassionate, warm, home-like environment.
Social and Recreational Activities
Activities to promote physical, spiritual, social and overall mental health.
Supportive Housing
The home provides a semi-independent living environment just a block away from the Outpatient Program. We have both shared and private rooms, depending on client preferences and availability. La Selva also offers supportive housing at our Echo apartments.
Treatment Planning
A collaborative process between a client and his or her therapist, where they define treatments goals, monitor progress and adjust treatment services as needed.
Free Community Clinic
La Selva Group offers a free clinic that includes psychiatry, affordable medications, short term counseling and Day Program for those who qualify. Our clinic services are reserved for adults without public or private insurance who are unable to pay out of pocket for behavioral health services. (Read more about our Free Community Clinic).
